Details of Nairobi Metropolitan Services Improvement Project (NaMSIP) Vacancy Positions & How to Apply.

Nairobi Metropolitan Services Improvement Project (NaMSIP) is under the State Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development. The Project is part of a metro-wide development initiative and is financed by the National Government of Kenya with support from the World Bank at a cost US$300 million and US$30 from government as counter fund.  The project started on 17th December 2012 and is due for completion on March 31st 2020.

Salary Scale:Kshs.15,670 – 17,570 p.m.
House Allowance: Kshs.4.500 p.m.
Commuter:Kshs.3.000 p.m.
Leave allowance: As existing in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As provided by the Government
Terms of Service: Two (2) years contract

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: –

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D Plain or its approved equivalent;
  • Valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s);
  • Three (3) years driving experience as an ambulance Driver,
  • Attended a first aid certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week at St Johns Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBIT);
  • A valid certificate of good conduct from Kenya Police;
  • Demonstrate outstanding professional competence and integrity in work performance and results.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –

  • Driving ambulance vehicle as authorized;
  • Carrying out routine checks on vehicle cooling system, oil, electrical and brake system, tyre pressure etc.;
  • Detecting and reporting malfunction of vehicle system;
  • Maintenance of work tickets for the assigned vehicle;
  • Ensuring security and safety of vehicle on and off the road and;
  • Ensuring safety of passengers, patients and medical equipment therein;
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle
