1. Physiotherapist III

Job Summary

Requirements for appointment

  • Diploma physiotherapy or its equivalent from a recognized institution
  • Valid registration and Certificate of practice from the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists (KSP)
  • Three years’ experience in a busy facility
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution

Responsibilities

  • Examine and assess patients/clients requiring physiotherapy treatment.
  • Determine indications and contra-indications for treatment.
  • Determine appropriate physiotherapy treatment/rehabilitation plan/protocol.
  • Carry out individual or group physiotherapy treatment/rehabilitation plan.
  • Evaluate patients/clients on treatment in view of changing treatment modalities, placement, referral for further consultation with the doctor, or for discharge of a home program.
  • Maintain patient/clients file for filing patients admission notes.  Review and document patients’ treatment progress notes.
  • Daily Physiotherapy report sheet for patients/clients treated/rehabilitated and submit to immediate supervisor for verification and countersigning.
  • To handle an average of 10 (long cases) in Physiotherapy outpatient unit per day.
  • Maintain a patients/clients outpatient or inpatient register and document on daily basis patient’s attendance & treatment and other necessary details.
  • Maintain an equipment inventory indicating the functionality of the machines.

2. Nutrition And Diatetics Technologist III

Job Summary

Requirements for appointment

  • Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition and dietetics from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution and
  • Registration by the Council of the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND).

Responsibilities

  • Providing nutrition services in health care facilities
  • Conducting nutrition assessments
  • Collecting and compiling nutrition data
  • Providing nutrition health education and demonstrations
  • Counseling of patients with specific nutritional needs
  • Monitoring preparation of therapeutic feeds
  • Implementing outpatient and inpatients supplementary and therapeutic feeding programmes.
  • Promoting maternal, infant and young children feeding programmes
  • Providing micronutrient supplementation.

3. Public Health Officer

Job Summary

Requirements for appointment

Candidate must have;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health or Public Health from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate of competence from the association of public health officers; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution

Responsibilities

  • Identifying environmental health issues at community level;
  • Compiling and maintaining up to date records of services rendered;
  • Assessing health needs of the community
  • Implementing sanitation and hygiene standard in the community;
  • Sensitizing communities on food and water safety measures
  • Compiling data on disease trends.

4. Assistant Public Health Officer III

Job Summary

Requirements for appointment

Candidate must have;

  • Diploma in either Environmental Health Science or Public Health Inspection from a recognized institution; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

  • Mobilizing, sensitizing and advising communities on matters related to environmental health;
  • Referring health cases to relevant health facilities;
  • Carrying out immunization;
  • Identifying environmental health issues at community level;
  • Organizing community health days to advise communities on common public health issues;
  • Collecting and maintaining up to date records of services rendered;
  • Assessing health needs of the community;
  • Implementing vector, vermin and rodent control measures;
  • Implementing integrated mosquito control strategies.

5. Laboratory Technologists III

Job Summary

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be:-

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya national Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Board.
  • Registration certificate issued by Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB);
  • Valid practicing license issued by KMLTTB and;
  • Certificate in computer skills from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

  • a. Decontaminating working benches
  • Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens
  • Preparing clients for collection of specimens
  • Receiving, collecting, labelling and registering of specimens
  • Disaggregating specimens for processing and analysis
  • Preparing reagents
  • Examining specimens
  • Writing and recording of results
  • Dispatching the results for use in clinical management
  • Preparing stains
  • Performing blood grouping
  • Issue blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities
  • Storing blood products according to their requirements.

6. Radiographers

Job Summary

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean grade C plain with C plain in English/Kiswahili, Biology/Biological Sciences or Physics/Physical Sciences and C- in Mathematics and,
  • Diploma in any of the following; Diagnostic Radiography/ Medical Imaging Sciences, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Digital Medical imaging equipment or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.

Responsibilities

  • Providing radiographic services to the patients;
  • Processing, verifying and maintaining information relating to patients;
  • Ordering and maintaining records of radiographic and photographic supplies.

7. Accountant

The officer will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting work under guidance of a senior officer.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Prepare and verify vouchers in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations involving primary data entry and accounting work such as balancing of cashbooks, imprest, advance ledgers etc.
  • Responsible for safe custody of records and assets under him/her.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Requirements for Appointment;

  • Be a Kenyan citizen
  • Be a holder of at least a pass in Part II of the CPA examination or its recognized equivalent qualifications.

OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting option) from recognized institution or any other relevant qualification.

Terms of service:     Three year (3) contract

8. Registered Nurse 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes;
  • Providing appropriate healthcare service including Intergraded Management of Childhood illnesses(IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, ante-natal care and delivery, delivery, providing health education and counseling to patients/ clients and community on identified health needs;
  • Referring patients and clients appropriately;
  • Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans; maintaining records  on patients/clients health condition and care;
  • Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; and collecting and compiling data.

Requirements for Appointment.

  • Diploma in any of the following discipline: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;
  • Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

9. Enrolled Nurse

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  • Assessing patients and clients and establishing health care needs;
  • planning and implementing nursing care interventions based on based on patient’/clients’ health needs;
  • providing appropriate healthcare service, including immunization, prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT), antenatal care and delivery, providing health education and counseling on identified health and socio-economic needs to patient’/clients’;
  • referring patients and clients appropriately;
  • facilitating patients’ admission and discharge in a health facility; ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment;
  • ensuring safe custody of in-patients belongings;
  • maintaining records on patients/clients personal and health condition/care;
  • evaluating health care outcomes on patients/clients and preparing individualized reports; conducting assessment of school health needs;
  • planning, implementation interventions and preparing periodic reports;
  • j.    maintaining records on patients/clients personal and health condition/care;
  • k.    ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; ensuring safe custody for in-patients belongings;
  • l.    Conducting home visits, follow up discharged patients/clients and providing continuity of care and treating minor ailments.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Certificate in any of the following disciplines; Kenya Enrolled Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Midwife, Kenya Enrolled Psychiatric Nurse or Enrolled Nurse/Midwife from a recognized training institution;
  • Enrolment Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Terms of service: Three (3) year contract
