Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Nyandarua Campus Overview
Background Information
KMTC Nyandarua was started in the year 2014 and is the only KMTC Campus in Nyandarua County. The Campus is within Nyandarua County and is situated at Ol’kalou town next to J.M. Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital, three km from Ol’kalou Town along Ol’kalou – Nyahururu Road.
Programmes and Courses currently offered:
-Diploma in Nursing
– Certificate Nutrition & Dietetics
-Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics
Future Plans
The Campus plans to introduce the following programmes in the near future:
-Certificate in Community Health Nursing
-Diploma in Pharmacy
-Diploma in Clinical Medicine
– Short courses
Facilities
-Administration block housing various offices to serve the students.
– Tuition block with spacious classrooms, well lit and ventilated.
– Well-equipped library with adequate textbooks on various thematic areas for medical students.
– Hostels, which accommodate students on a first come, first served basis.
-Cafeteria where students can get their meals at a subsidized cost on the basis of pay as you eat.
-Well equipped skills laboratory, where students are exposed to practical lessons after theory classes.
Student Population
Currently, the Campus has a student population of 343 which is likely to go higher in the next intake.
Clinical training sites
The students use J.M. Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital, Nyahururu County Referral Hospital, Gilgil Sub-County Hospital and Naivasha Level 4 Hospital. Other clinical sites are Health Centres such as Wanjohi, Getabush, Bamboo and Ndaragua.

Clubs, Societies and Sports
The Campus has a number of playing grounds for various sports and various students clubs such as:
-Seventh Day Adventist
-Christian union
-Muslim Union
-Young Christian Association
-Environmental Sustainability Club
For sporting activities our students play all ball games, indoor games, field events athletics.
