Details of Kenya Association of Music Producers Vacancy Positions & How to Apply.
We are seeking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to be based at its Head Office in Nairobi on a one year contract renewable subject to performance and renewal of the KAMP operating license.
The Accounts Assistant will report to the Senior Accountant. He/she will be charged with providing administrative support to the accounts department, data entry, processing, and recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits or fact-checking, and preparing budgets and reports.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out general accounting and administrative duties as necessary.
- Making decisions that are consistent with the company’s core values.
- Date stamping all new invoices and then forwarding them onto the appropriate department heads.
- Balancing monthly accounts.
- Responding to vendor, auditor and employee inquiries regarding invoices.
- Producing accurate financial statements.
- Completing tax returns, Typing correspondence, reports, and letters.
- Ensuring that the cash recorded by the cashier agrees with bank records.
- Daily cashbook management.
- Using computerised accounting systems to maintain accurate records.
- Auditing accounts for accuracy.
- Preparing wages and managing claims for expenses.
- Arranging purchase orders Managing day-to-day internal controls.
- Reconciling monthly statements for the bank and the payroll
- Processing all refund requests.
- Filing of all accounting records appropriately
- Performing any other related duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant.
Qualifications
- Holder of CPA part II or III
- Age between 25-35 years old
- 2 years of experience in accounting/finance
- Knowledge on the use of accounting software basically QuickBooks and ERP systems will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in the use of MS. Office suite
- Good communication and inter personal skills
